Frequently Asked Questions

What tasks are included in the dedicated support time?

Good question! Most requests we receive involve updating or adding new content to existing website pages, making small design changes or uploading pics or videos. However anything that fits into the monthly support time is perfectly fine - we can do a lot in a short period of time! Keep in mind that requests for new features, major design changes or installation of new pages or plugins will likely exceed the allotted support time and will require a separate quote. 

Can support time be rolled over to the next month?

Plans with monthly support time ensures this time is there for you each month. Think of it as a retainer.  It reserves your place in our queue and with our resources, therefore it does not roll over. This way we can assure you that requests within your allotted minutes of time each month will be addressed by our team with immediate attention. 

What happens if my website goes down, is hacked, breaks, etc.?

The whole purpose of our care plans is preventative care, we hope to prevent anything from happening. However, in the case your website does experience a critical issue, we will communicate with your web host on your behalf to get the problem fixed and your website back online. We cannot promise your website will not be hacked, but we can promise to do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as restore your website from a clean backup.  

What if I need more support time?

If you have a task that requires more than your dedicated monthly time, we will connect with you to let you know. You can decide whether to roll the task(s) over to the next month if small,  or purchase a block of support time to cover the work.  If the task is involves additional functionality or web pages we will provide you with a quote for the work.  You'll never have to worry about being  billed for work that you have not approved. 

The Basic Website Care Plan does not include support time. A quote will be provided for tasks requested or you can purchase a block of support time at our regular hourly rate (less 10% client discount).

How do I know what's been done on my site?

You'll receive a report every month letting you know what has been done with your site, how many visitors you've had what security issues have been addressed, etc. We'll also confirm that your site is secure and malware free. 

Can I really cancel anytime?

Absolutely. We are all about building a relationship with you and your website, so we would hate to see you go. But we understand that circumstances change and you shouldn't feel locked in. Request a cancellation via email and we will immediately stop the next payment.

Note: Once your plan is cancelled you will be responsible for your website hosting and licensing of the theme and any premium plugins used on your site. 

My website was not built by KCD Web Services, can I still be on a care plan?

Our Website Care Plans are generally for sites we build or re-design. However we welcome clients who are looking for a long-term relationship with a dedicated webmaster. 

We require a Website Evaluation to become familiar with the website, how it was built and any potential issues that can arise. With the evaluation, we will perform all the "Website Updates and Monitoring" tasks and make a full backup. Most importantly we will make a list of all issues to fix and suggestions for improvement needed in order to proceed with the website on a monthly plan. The Website Evaluation is an additional fee.
